The Firehouse Center For The Visual Arts

Located in the unique and historic firehouse named for Ethan Allen and Company Number 4, The Firehouse Center for the Visual Arts is an art and education center in downtown Burlington. Part of the Burlinton City Arts, the center opened in 2004 after the firehouse was renovated. All five floors are used to display contemporary art and provide space for artists, lectures, conferences, classes and workshops.

The lower level is the community darkroom and classroom.

Next, on the ground floor is the Firehouse Gallery. The gallery opened in 1995 and as its mission, presents "thought-provoking exhibitions". They hope to engage visitors in discussions and activities as a part of the overall gallery experience

The second floor houses the Lorraine B. Good Multi-Media Lecture Hall and Conference Center is available to rent for private use such as conferences, corporate trainings, holiday, birthday, and retirement parties, wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, and bridal showers. The entire second floor can be rented or for a more private setting, individual rooms may be reserved.

The third floor is the Art Education Studio and Artist Resource Room where the public can come to make use of the books, periodicals and online resources. This area is also an information center with news about what's happening in the art world of Burlington.

The fourth floor of the building offers an Artist-in-Residence Studio. World-renowned arts are given space to work and exhibit their creations.

In the Bell Tower stands the original firehouse bell.
